About Fertility Planit
Fertility Planit (FP) is an early stage start-up. We’re the social network for people worldwide wanting to have children -- and for all the services that support them.
Users search by location and topic to connect with friends, resources, reviews, discussions and deals to suit their individual needs. Our community brings consumers and providers together -- reducing the pain of infertility by offering information, support and inspiration to people as they explore all options for having children. We’re an infinitely social tool for fertility and family building. We invite people and brands from across the fertility, adoption, health and wellness sectors to join us.

TECHNOLOGY LEADER
Are you an expert with Social Networks and Online Communities, have experience working with a start-up, and share our interest in the world of health and wellness? Then we’d love to talk with you.
Location is flexible, though being based in California is preferred.
We’re looking for a brilliant Technology Leader with an expansive knowledge of social networking and consumer on-line technologies. You’ve worked with at least one start-up, understand the start-up culture, and know from experience what does and does not lead to success.
You can insure the technology team is qualified, the hardware is appropriate and the software tools required to accomplish the task are in the hands of the right people. You have experience in fundraising, working with the board and have a good head for business.
You manage and oversee all aspects of technology and product development for Fertility Planit. This includes: masterminding UX design for existing and new functionality; overseeing new and improved web design; leading the vision for existing and new applications; translating our service to mobile platforms; managing developers and the augmentation of the Shopping and Connect sections; supporting our first convention in 2012 with an e-commerce site dedicated to signing up and buying tickets, and to outlining exhibitor and sponsorship packages; paving the way for multimedia content. All of it needs to leverage social APIs as appropriate to support the ultimate community experience.
You’re able to supervise teams and developers and to devise and follow through on the big vision. You’ll innovate and expand our service and keep us agile. You’re experienced with presenting to investors and are able to join our executive team as we secure funding.
We are looking for a leader with:
- Experience in working with emerging technology trends
- An understanding of key web technologies & services (LAMP, HTML5, AWS)
- Familiarity with mobile technologies
- Capacity to work in a team setting & to understand customer and business objectives
- Work with Business Development to onboard new partners (partner-facing)
- Ability to present to investors as Fertility Planit raises capital
- Skills to recruit and grow a top-notch team of developers
- Evangelize our technology at conferences and shows
Time committment would be at least 4 hours per week at this stage until we are funded. This is to help shape goals and milestones, get to know the product and join us in meeting investors. Compensation includes equity shares plus salary after funding is secured.

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT LEADER
We’re looking for a brilliant Business/Brand Development visionary to position us as the leading social brand for people who want to have children. You’ll build key strategic partnerships and govern all revenue streams and e-commerce activity. Experience with online communities, and a personal interest in fertility, health and wellness is important.
Location is flexible, though being based in California is preferred.
Required
You’re a whiz at building partnerships with influential brands. You have a proven track record with securing advertisers, sponsors and partners, maximizing existing revenue streams and creating new revenue streams -- for both e-commerce and offline events. You can help shape product development with a view toward integrating revenue streams and making sure a satisfying user experience comes first.You have an MBA, have worked with at least one start-up, and know from experience what does and does not lead to start-up success.
You’re experienced at working with online communities, e-commerce and consumer technology products. You will contribute to the vision for product development, especially for all of our e-commerce features and revenue streams.
Preferred
Experience with sales/marketing for health, wellness and LOHAS brands.
You possess knowledge and confidence about mobility -- and can help steer the development for our mobile and mobile multimedia offerings and revenue streams.
Time line
In the near future, you’ll develop materials to support total addressable market and fund-raising, and are available to take meetings with the executive team when we pitch to investors.
After funding is secured, you’ll help ensure our first annual Fertility Planit Show in 2012 is an amazing experience for our users, attracting participation form influential, trend setting health and wellness brands. You'll make sure FP gains as much traction and revenue as possible from this R&D/marketing event and will measure traction and impact via data gathering. Revenue streams include: attendee ticket sales; exhibitors; sponsors; advertisers; webcasts; FP schwag.
Overall, you'll work to establish Fertility Planit as the leading, social brand for family building, build the key strategic partnerships necessary to position us there, and maximize all revenue streams.
Commitment and Compensation
Time commitment would be at least 4-8 hours per week at this stage until we are funded, and can be worked around your existing schedule. This is to help shape goals and milestones, get to know the product and join us in meeting investors. Compensation includes equity shares plus salary, a commission structure and benefits after funding is secured.

SOCIAL MEDIA/COMMUNITIES LEADER
Fertility Planit engages with friends and followers across Facebook and Twitter and wants to keep up an active dialogue in both spaces. You will manage our presence on both -- as well as support and initiate engagement across Fertility Planit.
We’re also keen to explore new spaces for sharing our brand and content, and want to invite ever more friends and partners to our community on FP. You will seek out these new marketing spaces for Fertility Planit, create new multimedia content as needed, and report on impact and return on investment from social media marketing. You will also summarize and interpret results from Google Analytics.
You don’t need to be an experienced social media manager. What’s important is that you’re a strong communicator, that you’re fluent with social media services and stay on top of latest technology trends. You personally use social media regularly, and you share our purpose: to help people worldwide to create a family.
This position is compensated with shares or stock options at this stage and will be paid once funding is secured.
